The first Sherlock Holmes book, A Study in Scarlet, was published in 1887, over a hundred years ago. Over the years, there has been countless of adaptations and retellings. Due to how many adaptations there are, I'm just going to talk about my favourites :)

Sherlock Holmes (1984) was a british television adaptation of ACD's work that ran for a decade. Many fans, including myself, view this series to be the most canon accurate interpretation of the originial stories. Jeremy Brett truly out does himself with his perfomance of Sherlock Holmes. Whereas many interpretations of Holmes consists of a cold, logical machine of a man, Brett managed to portray him as the eccentric, kind, and fun detective that is so endearing to us. Additionally, David Burke, and in later seasons, Edward Hardwicke, both compliment Brett in their loveable perfomances as John Watson.

Sherlock and Co is a modern adaptation of the original works. This immersive podcast began my Sherlock special interest after watching a TikTok made by @ratmakingart. From its immersive nature and snippets of domestic life at Baker St, to canon Audhd Sherlock and well written female characters, there are so many reasons to start listening!
